a few things from the discussion (not in chronological order, that's what I remember from the discussion)
someone asked him about the translations, he said he was worried that it would take away a lot from the book, because the language was a very important part of it.
someone asked him his opinion about the fact that he’s an icon, and the person said “if Gene Simmons wrote a song called No Pussy Blues, everybody would say it’s awful, but when you write it everyone says it’s art”. Nick replied “because it is, and anyway, Gene Simmons can’t even write a song” (not sure if it was his exact words but you get what he meant) and everybody in the audience applaused
he said he was worried to go to Ottawa, because that’s where Avril Lavigne is from, and that there might be an “Avril Lavigne fatwa”
he and John Hillcoat watched documentaries about salesmen in the USA in the 70s to prepare the movie. They also interviewed english salesman.
he's tired of being called a misogynist, “just because I murder chicks in my songs”
he won’t do any readings of ATASTA during his tour. but maybe next year there'll be an audiobook of ATASTA
The best part was when Nick tried to describe how the iphone app works… ROTFL!!!
I think the discussion was more interesting and more funny than the one at the iTunes festival
