the great big 'doing the album' thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

can only do Virginia here. Did you see them on their last tour during the spring? It was all acoustic but very impressive, I prefer their electric shows but I was not dissappointed. the va trip is questionable.. 5 hour drive there, the money spent might be the money I can save to see the bunnymen croc/heaven tour over here hopefully closer than ny

went to see the wedding present doing bizarro last night, so back to the O2 in oxford - and three album gigs iin a week, its like 30 years have just disappeared, or something. fantastic gig. Exuberant you'd have to say, band and audience. Wall to wall bouncing - i was even tempted a bit myself here and there but restrained and did a bit of foot tapping and nodding as usual. If Mac's worried about his micro celelbrity status he ought to have a word with Gedge who seems unconcerned, happily doing his own merch stand, signing stuff as he's flogging it. Band act as their own roadies. And their Peasey is a very attractive young woman, gets a roar of approval every time she wanders on stage to give gedge a newly strung guitar, which is quite often. Plays bass a bit too. Dunno how long the tours on for but go if you get the chance.

Gary Numan is here in May to play The Pleasure Principal to celebrate the 30th anniversary but it came out in 1979 so for me the maths just don't work out 30th sounds better than 32nd no doubt and makes us not so old
The problem with self improvement is knowing when to quit.

hooky on the next stage of his stroll through his share of the back catalogue - movement and power corruption and lies. Missed the UK section somehow but you americans are in!!

I didn't read the details.

Will he get the singer from Monaco who is a pretty good Sumner to do vocals?
Or does Potts still want to kill Hook? (A recurring theme among his bandmates.)

Oh, it seems Potts will be the guitarist for The Light. Why not make him the vocalist?

when i saw him do unknown pleasures hooky did the vocals. worked quite well. mrs FC pointed out that he's not a very good singer, which i countered with, wellthe original bloke wasn't that hot, in the generally accepted fashion any way.

It took awhile to get used to Ian's voice as a kid. Same for Mick Jagger's. I don't think I really ever considered Mick to be singing.*
