Interpol 28 November 2007 Blackpool Empress

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

See?

Love me or hate me - but its a boring forum without me!!!
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Did you get any decorating done?Thats some experiment.OK Interpol's output is considerably less original than The Bunnymen's but TOTBL is a better album than Crocodiles.2-1 I concede. The only way to fully appreciate Crocs and its impact would have been at the eye of the hurricane in 1980.But I wasnt there so playing it back I see a flawed classic. Not a big fan of Pride,Stars,Monkeys.Tinny production. The Teardrops stole a march on them 1980 no question.But...........Interpol are so good live and have the potential to release one of the best albums ever.Whether or not they ever achieve that(rumours of a split keep appearing) time will tell.

With regards to Bunnymen producers for Crocs to OR I dont think they get enough credit.

Not fair to draft in Mew as you know I think they are the best band on the planet at present. But the weight of expectation could prove too much for three sensitive types from Denmark so I'm trying to play it down.

Pub question-Bunnymen,Mew,Interpol all playing in Liverpool on the same night same time.Who do you go and see and why?

To make it even more interesting, throw in a hypothetical band composed of mini-Ditkas. Now THERE'S a decision to make.

In all seriousness, I chose the bunnymen.

Easy - Mew anyday of the week.

The voice, the songs, the swirling magnificence, the backdrop, the otherworldly melodies...the younger and considerably more attractive fans to drool over.

Between Interpol and the Bunnymen...hmmmmm...tough one...

Man, if you like Mew, you must check out Mercury Rev. As good as Mew is, the band is like a watered down version of

Mew are miles better than Mercury Rev(who I like btw).To state that you've obviously never seen Mew live.

I like what I have seen.
I think Rev could take some tips from a multi -layering of vocals and KISS lighting and smoke machines - definitely. Mew is definitely a more polished for prime time and tuxedos. Rev has been pretty crushed by heroin addictions and DIY attitude over the years.

Yeah right into Interpol at the moment.

No comparison between Echo and Interpol. Totally different.

Agree best band of generation.

Some fantastic Reading 2007 footage on You Tube.

Got Antics and Admire this week - Atol to follow.

Brilliant!

I would agree with that.

They remind me of the Comsats at their height - tight is not the word.
