The Obligatory Contented of Hove Thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Saturday night in London was, again, fantastic.
Himself was totally energised, in great form. So much so that there was a bit too much ooomph to some songs - the first half was totally manic but very enjoyable nonetheless.
Some great banter with the crowd.
Can't remember the whole setlist but we got;
Hold on to yourself
Tupelo
DLD
Midnight Man
Nature Boy
Red Right Hand
Mercy Seat
God is in the House
Pappa Won't Leave you Henry
Weeping Song
News from Nowhere
Stagger Lee

All in all they played two hours.

Saw the wife and kids arriving just before the show, and saw John Simm at the end looking very pleased.
Best of all was bumping into Bobbie G: AGAIN: People will be talking about us!!!!!!!!

Cool venue. Crap support band again.

Little snippets:

Nick Cave has picked up the ARIA ( http://www.ariaawards.com.au/news.php ) award, his seventh, this time for Best Male Artist, at the 2008 Australian music awards ceremony.

Nick Cave is currently working with Warren Ellis on the score for The Road - the film of a Cormac McCarthy novel directed by John Hillcoat. He is also working on his second novel 'The Death Of Bunny Munro', which is due out in September 2009 through Canongate.

Nick Cave presented this year's Turner Prize to Mark Leckey iat the annual award ceremony at Tate Britain on Monday 1 December 2008 in a live broadcast on Channel 4 news, following in the footsteps of Dennis Hopper, who presented the award in 2007.

The four artists short listed for the Turner Prize 2008 were Runa Islam, Mark Leckey, Goshka Macuga and Cathy Wilkes. An exhibition of their work runs at Tate Britain until 18 January 2009.
