Church on tour

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

You slut .
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I think I am a Church fan but know about two albums worth of material.

I am searching the used and bargain bins for cds post Starfish. I got "magician among the spirits."

They sound like a New Wave jam band - which is ok. The drums on "It Could Be Anyone" makes me wish Tim Powles had been playing drums on Siberia and been a co-songwriter.

The first track Welcome is a total letdown . .but the cd improves with every song.

BF, you are quite the fan. Suggestions please.

Ever hear their song "Buffalo"? Lovely.

Priest=Aura
Hologram of Baal
Forget Yourself EP

Magician Among the Spirits isn't really a Church album IMO but Comedown is a lovely song. Oops.

Ok, I'll get them this week if I find them used.

Why is Magician not a Church album? Is it like a WAYGTDWYL?

If I remember correctly it didn't have many Church members involved. Kilbey and one other. Maybe a guest appearance here and there.

But the majority of songs have all memebers listed as writers.

Just for show?

Don't question me muthafucker! Maybe I'm thinking another album. Gold Afternoon Fix? Which sucked by the way.

Magician is the worst Church album.Not really a band at that stage just re-building bridges with Koppes.I recommend:

Blurred Crusade
Seance
Heyday(-five stars-brilliant)
Starfish
Priest=aura(five stars)
After everything
Hologram
Forget Yourself

Also try the two acoustic albums they did El something -or-other I cant remember

a toe-dipper for Kilbey solo try:

The Slow Crack
Remindlessness
Painkiller

Dont like MWP and Koppes solo but A New Season on Starfish is one of the best songs they've ever done(written by Koppes)

Is there stuff they regularly play live?
(Have they been doing the same set for the past fifteen years or so?)

Or do they change it up all the time?

I'd like to get the cds that contain the songs I am most likely to hear.
