The Obligatory Contented of Hove Thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

was at hammersmith last night (both of us, me AND nick). Never seen him before and it was a jolly good night. Considering I didn't know about 75% of the stuff it was a top gig, yeah baby, the stuff I did know fantastic. Missed the start though, for which I blame myself - taking the word of someone on an internet forum as to the start time, not to mention saying Yes when I really meant No when my bruv asked if I wanted another pint before we tootled off to the venue. Only disappointment was when I went to buy a tee shirt (first time I've done that in a long time) and asked the nice lady if they had (points finger) 'that one in a different colour please' and she said 'no' and 'and we dont have them in extra large either'.

Though here's a question for all you cave-o-philes - does warren ellis always turn his back on the audience when playing his violin, or roll around on the floor for that matter. Setlist sounds similar to that up this thread.

He faced the audience here in Paris, but then again he lives here. Thanks for the review.

He faced the audience in Dublin too, though he did creep around like a stalking stick a few times.

Maybe he was having a bad beard day.

Glad you enjoyed it.

wow! he faced the crowd in Paris and Dublin? maybe he's getting braver in his old age! most times i've seen him he's been backwards for most of the show! not always, but most of the time.

i really wish i could see them. been 5 and half years since he was in the states, dammit! but i just can't pull it off just a few days after RAH and NYC! too far to drive with the price of gas these days. :-( i'm glad i caught him in London on the Abba/Loo tour!

Grauniad live review

"Dyed black and arranged somewhere between a mullet and a comb-over, his hairstyle doggedly refuses to go gentle into that good night of male pattern baldness."

 Reading such reviews makes me want to go again. There seems to be only one German date and that's in Berlin on a day that I can't make it
