The New Editors Single

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

He could do with some hairspray and an overcoat, but otherwise you're right Jimbo.

Is that Les on bass? haha
thought i heard bits of "back of love" at times throughout.

The first seconds do, but it needs speeding up slightly with a little spikey guitar riff in the chorus, get rid of the U2-esque "Desire, desire" bit and add The Cutter Shankar eastern strings. Dunno, might pass for a Noel Burke-fronted Bunnymen song.

Very Bunnymen like, "Back Of Love" definately and the bass and speed of the track reminds me of one of the Electrafixion songs...Zephyr I think

Wow! Totally! And much better than the stuff on their last album.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

Jo Whiley played it last night and says at the end "and they are back... sounding a bit like echo and the bunnymen, back of love... maybe even an interpretation.... with a bit of U2 thrown in.

One of the guest panelists (might have been Miles Hunt) on Steve Lamacq's Roundtable yesterday said something along the lines that their previous stuff was Tom Smith trying to do a bad impression of Ian Curtis and now he is doing a bad impression of Ian McNabb or Ian McCulloch. Muso journo Keith Cameron said the beginning sounds a bit like the original version of The Cutter without Shankar. I assume he meant Drop In The Ocean. They were scathing...

Slagged off by Miles Hunt. Oh the shame.

Just a few seconds of Bunnymen, then it's all U2.

Have to agree with Miles Cunt. It's shit. The Back Room was promising as a poor man's British version of Interpol/Ian Curtis impressionist, but I can't watch them now without thinking of how the 2000s spawned loads of awful Coldplay type bands doing snoozy middle of the road guitar music. And they are still at it. Editors, go away.

Good. Their Interpol/JD rip off got boring.

Also sounds like the guy from the National after a few espressos.
