We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Thanks withahip

Watching those back it reminds me why (for me) DM are the greatest band to have ever existed.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Those are the films that come with the remastered cds. I want the movies but don't want to buy all the cds so it was great to find those videos. Glad someone else enjoyed them.

Exciter, Ultra and Angel would have really benefited from Wilder's input. Gore is DM, but Wilder (as shown by some of the input he had on Gore's songs) was able to give Gore a different perspective.

Since Wilder left, Gore has lacked that "quality control." On Angel, Gahan's songs were some of the best because, I am guessing, Gore worked with him on the songs. This didn't seem to be the case on Exciter.

Gahan wrote his songs with two other dudes.

Since Wilder left, Gore's songs have sounded a little sparse but I really liked Ultra and Playing the Angel.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Those two albums are fantastic (unlike Exciter)

According to the video above, on Angel, Gore wrote with him.

Look at the album credits. They will say

"Suffer Well" (David Gahan/Eigner/Phillpott)
"I Want It All" (Gahan/Eigner/Phillpott)
"Nothing's Impossible" (Gahan/Eigner/Phillpott)

And from the definitive, unimpeachable source on everything (wikipedia)

"The album is the first of Depeche Mode's to feature Dave Gahan as co-writer: three of the tracks ("Suffer Well", "I Want It All" and "Nothing's Impossible") had their lyrics written by the singer, while Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpott wrote the music on these."

They co-wrote the music, but it sounds like Gore helped him actually arrange and make the music. Like Wilder did with Gohan despite Gohan getting sole writing credits. It would be nice to know which.
