The Pixies

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Velouria is one of the greatest rock songs ever written. The Pixies and The Bunnymen are my top 2 bands for forever.

If I had a daughter she was gonna be named Velouria.

Unfortunately the Pixies are a corporation now. Frank Black needs to get back on the road and play dives like he used to. Guess with a wife and kids though that ain't happening.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

speaking of daughters (and I have three of my own and two of the step type) I recently contributed to the financial support of one of the steps final degree (design) show. This was a kickstarter job, and you could choose from several bits and pices. Didn't want some dodgy poster or even a days wprk out of one of the recent graduates but instead chose a recent reissue of doolittle on vynil signed by one of her lecturers. I was joshing long the lines of who is this bloke who goes around signing pixies album, but it turns out he is the bloke who designed the album sleeve. Paid more than I have ever for a bit of vynil, but all for a good cause. That's what I tell myself anyways. Cracking album though.

I should probably see them live one more time before I snuff it.

LoudQUIETloud: can the Pixies break into the podcasting world?
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/ ... ting-world

The 12 weekly episodes of Past Is Prologue – which starts in June, three months before the album’s release – will be hosted by Tony Fletcher, a music journalist whose specialist subject seems to be bands of a certain age, having written books on REM, Echo & the Bunnymen and the Smiths.
