Simple Minds - gordy

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Simple Minds - gordy

Our man gordy back in the minds on the telly last night (strictly come dancing) - one of about ten acoustic guitars in the simple minds go acoustic. That's all.

They (or rather Big Jim) sounded a bit ropey I thought, Mrs Dr Cheese reckons he's too old to be doing that anymore and should pack it in. "But he's only 57!" quoth I, "too old!" was her emphatic response. This after she'd just made me buy her tickets to see Elkie Brooks who, although undeniably fit in her prime, will be 72 years old when the gig comes around!!

They were a bit - I don't really get why they're doing acoustic stuff - but then only bits I really liked were the early electronic malarky. As for Elkie, that clip of her in vinegar joe was on the telly quite recently.

I liked Simple Minds up to New Gold Dream, couldn't be arsed after that.

I saw the Vinegar Joe thing too, she could certainly belt them out back then and she still gets great live reviews now.

Wonder if shes started wearing a bra? Just looked and thats a fair sized tour. Ive noticed that, look in the back of mojo, muse, or some suchlike bunch of you scallies, will have a massive ad for their uk tour playing london, glasgow and manchester, joe brown (and his bruvvers), who's about 90, plays about 300. Ah, when I were a lad etc.
