The Obligatory Contented of Hove Thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Wel its just someone's opinion isn't it. NMSWP is probably my favourite, though boatmans call and murder ballads a close second, though I came to the party quite late - bought Henry's Dream after seeing the video for Straight To You (from a corbjn video collection), and then bought No More Shall We Part, so I'm a bit like the dudes who first heard the buns on Evergreen and find HUH a bit hard going. Me and the missus had Breathless for our first dance at the old nuptuals :-)

I first saw NC in the film Wings of Desire, which came out in 1988 in Canada. Think the first LP I bought was Kicking Against the Pricks. Kook probably is a Crocodiles-era NC fan.

accidentally got myself subsription to Audible, i.e. in a weak moment signed up for a free month and then forgot to cancel. So now I am practically an elderly person listening to talking books. Anyways, currently listening to The Death of Bunny Munroe. Its very good - filthy in places and read by the old cove himself, which seems to make it funnier. Between chapter music seems to be samples of nick cave/warren ellis soundtrack stuff.
