Elizabeth Frazer

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Disappointing - but I bet she watches the videos and improves. Maybe it was a really tough show to mix? I'd like to hear the studio recordings. Nice to see she is for using technology herself.

"We struggled to hear Liz's voice for the first three songs or so. The mixing desk being to the side of stage wouldn't have helped. The engineer had no idea what the front of house sound was like."

"Yes, Elizabeth Fraser was amazing. However, why hasn't anyone dared mention that her ethereal voice was often swamped by an often too loud and surprisingly conventionally sounding band and poor mixing which meant we often struggled to detect her wonderful voice. "

"Yes, I agree about the poor mixing. When we could hear her it was clear that her voice was as good and the delivery as haunting as ever, but too often it was drowned out by the band. And though I thought the band was actually pretty good, the audience was there to hear Liz first and foremost."

Where I was the mixing wasn't a problem, although I thought at the time that Pearly Dewdrops Drops sounded really lame, which clearly it does from the youtube video. The tunes that I thought surprisingly worked really well were the completely stripped down acoustic stuff with Steve Hackett. All in all, I thought the gig had an air of being like a rehearsal/sound check. The backing singers were irritating. Slightly trying to dance on the spot and one of them who clearly was better endowed than the other kept checking to see if her shirt was tucked in her skirt. Yep, my mind was wandering that much by that time I was checking out her tits.

Was it at the RFH???When I saw the Bunnymen there the sound down the front was really poor but thats a probelm of the steep gradient seating plan.
