Recently I was griping about the politics of this band and how it annoys me and was starting to interfere with my love of their music when withahip asked if maybe I was just tired of Bono's speeches? He made an excellent point, and I can say after attending this concert, my love of the music is wholly intact. Bono is a man with seemingly limitless energy, the band looks like they enjoy what they're doing, and while I don't love everything they release musically, they didn't have one shit song in the set list. I was waiting for "Magnificent" (didn't get played), and I would have died a happy woman if just a few notes of "Bad" had slipped in somewhere. But I left with a renewed passion for a band that has been my favorite since I was 10 and my best friend in fifth grade introduced me to "October" (which remains my favorite album of theirs). I'm going to be 42 this year, and 32 years of those years has been greatly enhanced by U2's music. Call me a bricklayer if you will, but I will be a fan until the day I die.
