Small world eh. I remember the audience was mainly made up of old punks who looked like they'd crawled out of their seventies bedsits having been in hibernation, dug out their old leather jackets and dusted off their mohicans (that might be mohawks to you yanks) just for the occasion.

many years before that - bit off topic this one, and not nearly as cool - saw the Tourists at Hammersmith Odeon, band comes on all stood there looking cool, annie lennox strolls on, bleach blond, mini skirt etc, and she's one of those people who just has it on stage, presence that is (well had it, dunno about now) and while the intro's playing comes right to the fron of the stage and tries to get people standing up. Having failed that she just shouts, het off your fucking arses. No, no the same I suppsoe. Worked though, being shouted at by a lady. Good gig as well if I recall correctly. So - shoegaze....
