Well it's up to you if you want to investigate something different, which by rights shouldn't work or you should even hate-particularly because precise "musicianship" is the antithesis of everything post-punk, but there are a lot of surprises out there, and I will be investigating the bands recommended on this forum. It makes a change to see people who are not Post-Bunnymen or post-anything, just complete originals. You can keep your Editors and definitely Coldplay.
By the very fact of being Bunnymen fan's it can be taken for granted that most of us will pursue strange and unlikely avenues and occasionally stumble upon something cool. Actually I shouldn't be giving this secret away, otherwise they might end up like when I had to queue outside the O2 in Bournemouth for two hours in the freezing cold to get to the front at the YYY's concert, with ten bouncers getting in the way even then. So ignore any ridiculous suggestion from me or Tony that these obscure indie folkstresses have somehow come up with a mutant folk with the power and depth of Radiohead's "Amnesiac" combined with the exotic rock opera grandiosity of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven", the poignancy of Queens "Spread your Wings" and the mystery of the Bunnymen's "No Dark Things" because I was obviously off my rocker or taking drugs and shared them with Tony! We will both seek counselling for our collective delusion. And besides, Hampton's is too small a venue for all the rabble to try and attend with us.
