Something in the Air: Radio, Rock, and the Revolution

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Something in the Air: Radio, Rock, and the Revolution That Shaped a Generation by Marc Fisher

Anyone read this book? It is said to be a great chronicle of American radio and its decent into total suckdom.

I'll give it a shot to take a look. I can't even listen to the morning show on the classic rock radio station anymore. I mean, it's one thing to say what you want among friends, but why do they insist on talking about crass topics. It's sort of like the diff between Jim Morrison vs. Ian McCulloch. Some influence vocally and musically, but thank God not in terms of subject matter.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

The link on the bottom has a couple chapters. Alan Cross of Toronto's CFNY is a fan of the book.

Sadly, CFNY has descended into total suckdom.

Is that when Fabian replaced Stephen Stills briefly in Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young?

Or are you telling me that it was not Fabian but Fonzie that replaced Stephen Stills? He could have done a hip hop kind of thing with those songs instead of those clever uhs and yeahs that those guys usually do:

Teach (ayyyy!)your children well (whooooa!),
Their father's hell (ayyyy!) did slowly go by (whooooooooa!)

Sorry to hijack your thread...carry on.

No we don't do that in Cincinnati. That's much too ethnic. We are fearful of Mexican culture here unless it comes from Chipotle. We just drink Hudy Delight

About a half hour ago!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
