Church on tour

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I bet you anything they play Under the Milky Way. Other than that they seem like a band that would mix it up a bit. I would pay any amount to see them live if I knew they are playing "Ripple" live.

Easily one my top ten favorite songs of all time.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

At the last count your Top 10 songs of all time contained 150 entries
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

They mix it up.Everytime.All depends whether or not they play electric or semi-electric.they have to finance the tours themselves so dont expect a huge stage show. Will deffo play Under the Milky Way but the rest......last time they played the UK we got a lot from Forget Yourself.

Just go.

I am going; I bought the tix the morning they went on sale.

Just looking for an excuse to get some stuff. Baal and Priest seem to be the two best choices.

If they played Ripple I would totally throw withahip's bra onstage.

Did he buy it in Japan?

Bra for the boys an online bestseller in Japan
Fri Nov 21, 2008 11:02am EST

TOKYO (Reuters) - Who said bras are only for women? A Japanese online lingerie retailer is selling bras for cross-dressing men and they've quickly become one of its most popular items.

Since launching two weeks ago on Rakuten, a major Japanese web shopping mall, the Wishroom shop has sold over 300 men's bras for 2,800 yen ($30) each. The shop also stocks men's panties, as well as lingerie for women.

"I like this tight feeling. It feels good," Wishroom representative Masayuki Tsuchiya told Reuters as he modeled the bra, which can be worn discreetly under men's clothing.

Wishroom Executive Director Akiko Okunomiya said she was surprised at the number of men who were looking for their inner woman.

"I think more and more men are becoming interested in bras. Since we launched the men's bra, we've been getting feedback from customers saying 'wow, we'd been waiting for this for such a long time'," she said.

But the bra, available in black, pink and white, is not an easy sell for all men.

The underwear has stirred a heated debate online with more than 8,000 people debating the merits of men wearing bras in one night on Mixi, Japan's top social network website.

I saw The Church's accoustic tour a couple of years ago. Kilbey said they had made a pact with God that they would never play Reptile live in Texas again or they would all be struck down- something to that effect. Don't know if it's just TX or everywhere...
Smiling equates with happy
I know they're miles apart.

Its Kilbey's sense of humour.

I saw them last night.

The sound was poor but did improve somewhat as the show went on. The Church had their own mixing board. I guess it is necessary as there were some pre-recorded bits and Kilbey used a lot of delay on his vocals during certain songs but Peter Koppes guitar was almost non-existent.

The band opened with a jam on a couple of power chords. This got old quick. I have no idea what the song was. It was impressive standing 2 meters from a band I have liked for so long but have never seen live. Marty Wilson-Piper's gray long hair tied in two pony tails, long beard and two pierced ears accented his manic eye.

They played North, South, East and West which sounded pretty good. "When You Were Mine" off of The Blurred Crusade also sounded good.

Happenstance, Deadman, and Pangaea from the new release Untitled #23 were the best songs of the night.

Other impressions - the band likes to jam and rock out - but it really doesn't sound good when they do.

Steve Kilbey comes across as resenting anything about the band people like. He is still a druggie. His reference to smoking a joint the night before, thanks for the Absynthe, and complaints the lights were burning his eyes made that clear.

They closed with Under The Milkyway and Reptile before coming out for an encore. Under The Milky Way was introduced with bitterness by Kilbey. And Reptile sounded like a second rate cover band. Piper's guitar playing was full of missed notes. It was painful.

It was the mix. Those videos sound just fine on that blog. It was the same set more or less from what I can gather from the blog entry - attitude was definitely more professional for the radio show. I guess the 30 bucks a piece we shelled out wasn't enough.

Too bad.
