Saw this small band last night. They were lucky enough to have one of the best soundtechs in the area do their sound at the dive. They sounded amazng.

the band itself isn't breaking new ground. A few people said they sound like U@ - I didn't hear it - maybe it was because they don't listen to "alternative" bands much and were surprised by how accesible their music is. They throw in the guitar influence from bandssuch as MBV, but the songs as a whole are quite conventional.

Secrets Are Sinister is so good! I keep listening to it and wondering how a cd that doesn't really do much out of the ordinary song structure-wise is just so fun to listen to!

Pitchfork's reasons for hating it is totally valid - and I like the cd for the exact reasons they hate it.
