Computer Question

Postby JackT » Sun Sep 07, 2008 8:02 pm

So, I'm fixin't to buy a new computer for the family to replace our 7 year old Compaq.

The Compaq is running XP and set up with multiple user accounts. I plan to transfer all our stuff over by simply putting the hard drive into a USB enclosure and hooking it up to the new machine as a USB drive.

My question is: since we are not booting off that drive, will the multi-user setup matter at all as far as accessing the various account folders. I assume that all the directory structures on the drive will all be accessible but I'm not sure....

To what extent are you looking to access those account folders?
Without that being the boot volume, all content will be accessible to all users.
As each user logs in to their respective account on the new computer, he/she can drag favorites, etc into the corresponding folders on the new PC.
