I can't tell you what they are... but I can give you 10 reasons I don't like hippies:

1. Their whirling-dervish dancing at all major local festivals

2. "tribal" pattern skirts, unshaved legs & sandals with thick wool socks

3. extreme body odor, rivalling homeless people - because they don't bathe or believe in deodorant

4. patchouli-stink - because they think patchouli is an apt replacement for deodorant (it's not) or that it actually smells good (it doesn't).

5. they're hypocrites - they cover the windows, bumpers and rear ends of their cars with stickers exhorting us to save "Mother Earth" - yet their vehicles are often the worst on the road - rusted out gas-guzzling, high-carbon emitting vans and old-school Volvos.

6. Tofu DOESN'T taste good.

7. Neither do lentils... unless you cook them with ham or bacon

8. Dave Fucking Matthews

9. Phish

10. Did I mention patchouli?

What I loved most about the hippies around the world even though I was too young to be one myself at the time, was how the govts. feared them.

There were hippies all over the world unafraid to speak their minds.

And then there was this going on in the U.S. (Too bad it didn't work! ) :

I didn't know we were talking about hippies in the present or has your friend been one for decades?

What are the Julian Cope manifestations?

Do or did the hippies try to levitate large buildings where you are too?
