New Indiana Jones flick

Postby Frank The Bunny » Thu May 22, 2008 2:36 pm

I have the day off, so I decided to go see the new Indy movie.

For big visual spectacles, I steer away from the multiplex, and head to the Cinerama - a huge single-screen theater, with state of the art sound and projection.

The only showing not sold out for today was the 9:30am.

I walked down there (about 6 blocks away), and stood in the box office line (mostly people picking up tickets the bought online). I was in line like 3 minutes when a guy came up the line, giving away tickets (some of his buddies didn't show). So I snagged a free ticket from him (and handed him a movie pass I had tucked in my wallet).

It was a decent movie, with a good mix of action and humor.
It was also good to see Harrison Ford back in the role. I've always thought he was best as Indy & Han Solo.

I still wish I was Han Solo.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Harrison Ford is always better than his knockoffs:

Indiana Jones Knockoff (from Tales of the Gold Monkey):

I take it you're not gonna make for the next Dirk Benedict cruise?

This is actually the second TotGM reference in bunnymen forum history. I mentioned it on the old forum once when I said that "Bombers Bay" reminded me of that show.

Sadly, I admit to having watched the show.

TV Geek time:
Dirk Benedict was on Battlestar Galactica.
Many episodes were written by Donald Bellasario.
Donald Bellasario produced Tales of the Gold Monkey and Quantum Leap

Tales of the Gold Monkey starred Stephen Collins
Quantum Leap starred Scott Bakula

Stephen Collins played Willard Decker, the commander of the starship Enterprise in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (until Kirk took over command)

Scott Bakula played Captain Jonathan Archer, commander of the starship Enterprise on the TV series, Enterprise

So, it's all connected, see?
Pass me that bong.

You want the Enterprise. I want this.

They were dating before the movie takes place but she took some vow of celibacy or something. Very similar to my situation.

I think she died not too long ago.
