Not bothered, I've lost interest in international matches and even the WC is failing to rouse me from my apathy.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Bloody hell, you think anyone's daft enough to believe that? Black Francis reads The Guardian?

Robben epitomises everything that is wrong in football today, but refs don't seem to give a shit. Had he been booked for every simulation during the match he'd have been off long before the penalty he was actually awarded. Bloody awful.

I hate Robben. The CBC pundit called him a "serial diver".

More or less guaranteed a semi-final place now. I hope Argentina get there and give them a bloody hiding.

Is the world cup still on? Lost interest after a week.

Thank God it's almost over. Then I can go another four years until I have to tolerate Americans pretending they've always been a soccer fan. I stick to manly sports like golf.

Now then, footy season starts again next week. Let's have your predictions. I hope I do better than my world cup prediction (England to win).

1. Liverpool
2. Man City
3. Chelsea
4. Everton
5. Arsenal
6. Tottenham

Relegated:
Man Utd
Burnley
Sunderland

I'm reading Ian Rush's book at the mo (got it in a second hand book sale along with George Best's for a quid each) and really enjoying it, proper down to earth Flint lad, not like some of today's flashy fancy Dans. Anyway, the chapters are named by songs from the period and one is titled 'Bring on the Dancing Horses'. Good old Rushie eh, not bad for a Redman.

How do you think Everton will do this season, VB?
