so...., no purple fans. me neither but loads of my mates were into this stuff in the 70s so had to endure it from time to time. my daughter's music lessons last year included learning how to play the main riff to smoke on the water.

I never got into them much aside from Machine Head. Probably just as important as Black Sabbath for their earlier work. There were lots of band members from DP that became hard rock icons or who had good careers outside of the band.
