Liverpool vs. Manchester

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Liverpool vs. Manchester

Postby Seven Seas » Fri Jan 25, 2008 10:48 am

I've been reading the work by Mick Middles, Ian McCulloch King of Cool. Besides that, I've read the book by Alan Kidd on Manchester. I have several other books on both cities too. Therefore, I've been really thinking of these two cities. I've visited both now, Manchester 4 times & Liverpool 8 times now.

I'm interested in what your opinions are on these 2 cities.

Which city do you think successfully dervived the music scene? Why?
Do you think your choice continues to envelope more success?

If you had to choose one, to say, describe your taste in music which one would you choose?

Do you think say in 5 years, another form of musical background will dervive from them & if so, what style? Do you think the post-punk scene will re-develope?

I dunno, Its what you fancy innit? Lads with Ernie & Bert eyebrows walking round like they've shat their pants versus Pot Noodle Land.

They're both okay. Manc's changed beyond all recognition mind. Bit poncey now. Liverpool's great but small.

Why the fuck should the post punk scene redevelop? Leave it in the past there's enough good stuff going on in the North West

I have to drive to Trafford Park and back every morning - it's a right pain in the arse and what makes it worse is I have to go past Old Trafford!
