A favor to ask of my UK homies

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

A favor to ask of my UK homies

Would you guys mind if I use the phrase "pretentious wank" every now and then?

I'm not from the UK, but I got no problem with your using the phrase, especially if we start taking about Sting. WTF happened to him? He used to make great albums, and then he came out with that crap lute thing and his Christmas album sucked the big one. Then he complains about how shitty "today's music" is! He obvioulsy doesn't realize he's part of the problem.....

"Prententious wank" is an admirable and rather versatile phrase and so easy to apply that I feel it should be opened up for universal use.
I'm not from the UK but I dare say those who are will not have any issue as long as you use the phrase properly and not indiscriminately.
Some of our UK cousins have after all taken to calling everyone "guys", so I think it's fair if you use pretentious wank.
Just remember that it is generally used figuratively and not referring to a person pleasuring themselves while wearing a cape, a jazz hat and looking superior pretending to read Ulysses. That's a tosser.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

It depends how you use it, if you're referring to a person the correct term would, of course, be "pretentious wanker" whereas if it's in connection with one of Mac's dirge like ballads "pretentious wank" would be perfectly adequate.

It was in regards to objects and not people. I would never ask for the use of wanker as I don't believe I could honor it properly or with any kind of authenticity.

Ps- I'm sure Ivan is cool with you guys using dick hole if the proper situation arises.

Not only do I endorse the appropriate use of "Dick Hole", I also encourage all to sprinkle their posts with the personal pronoun "Douche Nozzle" when the opportunity arises

Are you going to say it with an attempted English accent?

If you are, the answer is "No, you cannot."
