I want a pink telecaster!!!!!!

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

I want a pink telecaster!!!!!!

Postby DivaDiana77 » Wed Dec 02, 2009 8:20 pm

OK, it's sort of Bunnymen related, I confess. I've been wanting a pink telecaster like the one Ian has. Pink is out because you can never find it. And I have to get a reissue because the real thing costs way too much.

The thing is, I almost got a red one but i was outbid in the last minute and now it HURTS!! I imagined meeting Ian one day and shooting the shit about how much we looooove our telecasters and me asking "can I please just take a picture with me holding your telecaster? I mean, you can stand in it too, but this is GUITAR LOVE!!!"

And I would actually make him laugh. I'm a strange girl. But hey, that's my fantasy. Of course he'd also say to drop him a line when I visit Liverpool. Yes, I also want to meet Will who is the REAL guitar genius, but I can only ever play rhythm guitar like Ian--at least until I get lead singer syndrome.

That salmon pink tele thinline is rare as hell. You can pick up the gayer (as in more gay!) pink tele though I'm not sure if it comes as a semi. I should think the long deleted salmon pink is worth a few grand these days. B&Q are very good over here at mixing paint, I'm sure if you asked Mac nicely he'd cut a chunk out of his to get an exact match at the paint mixing desk.

Yeah, I'll ring him up straight away. I mean we're besties.
So it's really more Salmon color? I always thought it was cool that he didn't care about the color being "gay". There are places that have replacement parts for guitars and might also do paint. I might end up buying a sunburst. I almost bought a natural today, but the guy sold it before I could get out there. The adventure continues.

I dont think anyone wants to see your big pink one Dave
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

I'm not so sure Scouser, sounds like DD (she's not the old girl from Brookie is she?) can't wait to get her hands on one, though I'd check if she uses a plectrum or fingernails first.

That's quite nice. Shell pink, is it? I thought about getting a 72, but like the pickup design of the 69. (That sounds naughty, but it really isn't.) So Ian's is the salmon pink, then? It's so hard to tell under the lights. I'm wondering if I got a reissue if I could send it to one of the companies to have the color changed...and then sometimes I'm wondering if I'm being ridiculous about it. Only fellow forumites understand who my guitar heroes are...(and from when since the music has changed.)

Actually ITM, that story sounds accurate. I believe Eartha Kitt was playing a hand.
