I think its abit of inspired casting

I agree. Though it will need to be with shows like "Heroes" or the "Sarah Connor Chronicles" about.
Very interesting and scientifically accurate concept about a Timelord not aging (due to multiple regenerations) whilst everyone else around him does. Someone from a civilization advanced enough to have chronotechnology would have cracked immortally long before.

He's a great actor and people are up in arms because he's not a "face" like David tennant. Good. I like the quirky Doctor types (Tom Baker / Christopher Eccleson) and you've got to remember Stephen Moffat will be knocking out great scripts...
