You think it doesn't affect your daily life. That's just the chip in your neck talking

According to imdb, he's been nominated three times for academy awards ... for Magnolia, Jerry Maguire and Born on the Fourth of July. And yes, I liked him in the latter two, and Risky Business too, but I guess I've just been turned off by all the nuttiness and control issues. I used to really like Mel Gibson. You can't beat The Year of Living Dangerously and the first Lethal Weapon, for instance. Again, the personal/public life stuff has just soured me on him.

I didn't like him LONG before the "nuttiness"

I agree about Daniel Day Lewis. And yes, he is still hot. Unlike Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson. To put him in the same award category as the "Knocked Up" part two, female Napoleon Dynamite is just plain wrong.

yeah, that's exactly why i stopped going to church sometime in the last 8 - 10 years. the one we were going to would allow gays to attend, and they'd allow them to throw money in the offering, but they wouldn't allow them to become a member, or get married in the church! so their gay money is good enough, but that's it?? that was when i realized they were all hypocrites, and i never went back again.

ha ha gay money. I wonder what gay money would look like. I think the gay $1 bill would have Liberace on it. And there definitely would be a $3 bill.

I figure the golden rule has got me this far so there must be something to it. For people who dig church I'm happy they have that and don't begrudge anyone their religion. Just not for me.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Richard Simmons would need to be on some currency. I love that little fucker.

The problem with church is ... They're full of people!! People can make or break a church! I like to attend a "hippie" church near us, but again, the politics in it can be a turn off.

So, as far as ghosts go, I believe that some folks are more in-tune with the paranormal. I think its the way we are wired. My ansestors, the Chaldeans, were the clairvoyants and sooth-sayers of their time. I can honostly say that these things are a part of who I am. Some of my experiences haven't been as bold as an actual shape of someone or something appearing to me, but rather just oddities that I consider came from "the other side". I have had visions come to me in my sleep of events that actually happened. For instance, when the bombing in London happened a few years back, I had a dream about Tony Blair being in a room full of people and he had to leave in a hurry. I do not really keep up with news of the day, but when I awoke I heard about the bombing, and the reports of Tony Blair having to leave that summit meeting he was in. I did not know anything about the meeting! Well, this stuff is more along the lines of ESP & such, but I still believe its all the same ball of shit!

OK. I'll shut up now.

So after reading this thread, I find myself watching 2 hours of Paranormal State on A&E from 2-4 am Tuesday morning. And they tell me that 3 am is the so-called Dead Time, when spirits are most active. Uh-oh. And they're filiming a haunted piano and I'm laughing my ass off. But when they found a dog's grave in the woods of Maine, I'm kind of uneasy. This has to be such an absurd show.

You got me there...

I'm sure you'd rather have your face on Richard Simmons, than on some stupid money, though.

That show is the worst of all the paranormal shows. They are too quick to claim demons and I haven't seen an episode where they come up with any evidence. How did a bunch of kids get their own A&E show? That's the real paranormal story.

My friend's aunt used a ouija board at 3:00AM alone in front of a mirror in her room. One night she saw a black dog emerge from her closet and disappear. You'd think she would have stopped but she continued and she one night she looked up into the mirror and said she saw dozens of people in her room via the mirror. She called the cops and they made a report and everything. I'm sure she has stopped since then. And I do believe her. I don't mess with that ouija stuff.
