"The Ghana national football team, popularly known as the Black Stars". They won't be so much stars when your lot have finished with them, eh?

They may not even be black!

Good luck with Germany getting to the final. Who's arses would you like them to whoop there now?

As long as it is not England's arses.... but then that would mean that Germany won't be able to whoop anyone's arses. Stupid England, to quote His Royal Highness Herr Führer Kaiser Beckenbauer, for forcing Germany to face them in the second round.

Sorry for England, especially Gerrard and Lampard who played blinders.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

Voodoo Billy and the "psychic" octopus were right.

Hmm. Lampard did and Calamity did. I'm only sorry for watching such an embarrassing game.

No guts and determination, no alternative ideas, other than a ten minute period when they were 2-0 down to pull one back and get a goal disallowed. Bunch of donkeys led by whatever the Italians call a head donkey. Them German boys sure did whip our arses.

Did I not catch "Nothing Lasts Forever" to end the programme as well?

You'd have to pay a good few Euros for that service in Berlin you know.

Was it? I gave up for the inquest from Shearer, Hansen et al as it was perfectly obvious what went wrong.

As a team they played with as much collective passion and spirit as the England United song....

I always preferred Broudie's "Football(ers) coming home (two weeks early)"

Being Welsh, we are a step ahead of England in footballing terms. We have a shit football team which is regarded as being shit by much of the footballing world but it is also regarded as being shit by the people of Wales. Most of this is also applicable to the England football team, the difference being that (until yesterday) the people of England reckoned their team were world-beaters.

Win the world cup? They had no chance. Still, I think most level headed English people who have followed their WC campaign and friendly performances thought that England would be better than they were especially against a relatively inexperienced and youthful German side. That was the shock of it all. It was pants. If we'd gotten past them then Argentina would have done us over. I'd be very surprised if Germany get past them.
