I was a kid when "Saturday Night Fever" came out, and my mom played that soundtrack a lot when I was young. I still like disco because that's what was poplular back then, and since I was in high school during the 80's, hearing those songs bring back good memories. There's nothing new to emotionally connect with. I really enjoy the posts everyone is putting up, and I do listen to them because I would like to find something fab.
New music can never compete with old music because, regardless of how good it is, it can never carry the emotional weight of the reminder of one's youth.
To be honest, the new music I like sounds pretty much like the old music I like.
