Also, to everyone who voted whatever. : Can you name a song that isn't whatever even if it's by the Bunnymen or an well established act. You know, just so we know that your "whatever" isn't coming from a jaded place

To be fair my "awesome" is coming from a jaded place.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Should I interpret this thread as a request for stellastarr* posts? They are indeed awesome.

First I'm told not to post bullshit, now I have to pretend I'm not jaded? I can't deal with all these rules and regulations! Mr. Brian, please delete my reality. Thank you.

Fine.....I've gotten back into early R.E.M. lately, so I will list "Radio Free Europe" as an awesome song. I will also say that these three songs by Spiderbait are really, really good: Shazam!, Tonite, and Glockenpop.

My favorite Murmur song is "Sitting Still". "Perfect Circle" is also great. Also "West of the Fields".

Surprisingly (because I need to be tricked into thinking I discovered the new music on my own) I liked both even though the first band appeared to have no charisma whatsoever. You're right about the ending of the second song. Almost sounds like mac there.

Check out this song from the Teenage Tupelo soundtrack by Impala. Starting at 2:58 but if you wanna see plenty of D'Lana Tunnel start at 2:10. She's drop dead gorgeous.

Here is my deal with new music: I need to find songs, bands, whatever, to connect me with a specific feeling. I was a kid when "Saturday Night Fever" came out, and my mom played that soundtrack a lot when I was young. I still like disco because that's what was poplular back then, and since I was in high school during the 80's, hearing those songs bring back good memories. There's nothing new to emotionally connect with. I really enjoy the posts everyone is putting up, and I do listen to them because I would like to find something fab.

New music can never compete with old music because, regardless of how good it is, it can never carry the emotional weight of the reminder of one's youth.
To be honest, the new music I like sounds pretty much like the old music I like.
