Yep. No easy feat to achieve, especially against a team that wanted to show that they are the potential 2010 World Cup champions in their very first game.

Wasn't Spain v Switzerland the game of the tournament so far?

The Simpsons watch TV. A commercial comes on. A man barbeques a soccer ball, and throws it towards the camera.
MAN
Open wide for some soccer!

Several soccer clips follow, with a voice over.

TV ANNOUNCER
The Continental Soccer Association is coming to Springfield! It's all here - fast-kicking, low scoring, and ties? You bet!

BART
Hey Dad, how come you've never taken us to see a soccer game?

HOMER
I... don't know.

TV ANNOUNCER
You'll see all your favorite soccer stars. Like Adiaga! Adiaga two! Badiaga! Aruglia! And Pizzoza!

HOMER
Oh, I've never heard of those people.

TV ANNOUNCER
And they'll all be signing autographs.

HOMER
Woohoo!

TV ANNOUNCER
This match will determine once and for all which nation is the greatest on earth - Mexico or Portugal!

I'll admit it's no Youtube video or thread with 17 responses to myself. Still, a fellow has to try.

Touche - your cut and paste is a valiant effort.

I wish Homer had kicked Cristiano in the nuts in that Nike advert, or alternatively opened the door and slammed it fast shut again. My least liked footballer. He irritates me more than seeing the bearded Maradona running up and down the touchline, or Herr Beckenbauer Des Führer dribbling on about England's "kick and rush" tactics even before meeting the team in the knock-out round.

«La nullité de l’équipe de France dément tous les discours tenus par Raymond Domenech et ses joueurs sur leur force de caractère et leur capacité de réaction», écrit L’Equipe. «Ce matin, ajoute le quotidien sportif, la France contemple un champ de ruines : son équipe nationale.»

The Mexican fans were louder than the vuvuzelas!

Funny that a team in green whooped France last night, no?

Mexico gave England a bit of a run around at Wembley last month and beat Italy, so the win wasn't that surprising.

No, just that the poetic justice is nice.
