The Germans looked tired. I thought Özil was going to run rings round Puyol...

Add to that Italian, Argentina, Brazilian and Portuguese failures. None of them shone at this tournament at all.

The Germans may have lost, but methinks this team will bounce back come Euro 2012 or WC 2014. They have been very impressive, largely enhanced by playing poor teams though. Still, even last night, Spain had to do alot of work to break them down.

Voodoo Billy wrote:After seeing the Germans' performance against what have been, in this competition, a below par Spain their previous results suggest that with hindsight there were some pretty poor sides in the tournament this time. They've steamrollered Australia, England and Argentina but were largely neutralised by the Spaniards. It's hardly been a tournament of the highest quality, but I've still got a fiver on Spain at 11/2 to win it (lets just hope Torres stays on the bench for this one!).

I think the tournament has been the worst since the 2002 WC. Players didn't show up. Teams looked sluggish and unorganised. Any team that had got it together could have won this. I don't think it will be remembered much, other than having two finalists who have never won it before.

Johan the fish oracle still thinks it'll be the Netherlands that will win. He was telling me last night in his fishy voice that Spain are still suffering from a lack of goal scoring. He feels that the Dutch have enough in the locker to get goals even if the Spanish dominate possession. I told Johan that if he was wrong I'd be flushing him down the toilet when the final whistle blows.

Some people were upset about the Spanish players behavior in that video - but I mean come on - at least the Germans have jobs to go home to. Spain needs to enjoy this reprieve from reality.

Ours tend to get an empty crisp packet casket and are then interred in the good old SULO wheelie-bin afterlife. :pop: (I realise that's popcorn but it was the nearest to a crisp packet emoticon I could find.

Shit. You are quite correct and I didn't notice "Euro 2008" in the background (slaps head repeatedly like idiot). I was listening to Radio Five Live and they mentioned it as something new so I went looking for it - I hadn't seen it before. Bastards.

Missus! .
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Nah. I'll stick to videos of Sara Carbonero instead. Boy is she distracting... as obviously Casillas found out himself against Switzerland.
