A Loch Ness Monster tree

Image
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Where is that tree? Someone should paint eyes and a mouth on it.

Spanish moss looks scary!

There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas

The trouble with the maples
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade

There is trouble in the forest
And the creatures all have fled
As the maples scream "Oppression!"
And the oaks just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights
"The oaks are just too greedy.
We will make them give us light."
Now there's no more oak oppression
For they passed a noble law
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe and saw

Love that poem!

There was a massive live oak next to the library in my Louisiana hometown. One of the arms was really low, and kids liked to bounce on it.

Spanish moss is funky. And crawling with tiny red bugs

I like scrub oaks too, cuz they're so gnarly looking in the cold months.

I think the Spanish Moss looks scary in a good way, like horror movie scary!

I also like Mimosas before the feathery things become messy and fall off all over the ground.

I would be a Polish tree.

My abiding memory of a trip to Poland was the kilometres and kilometres of forest, open and free, and then once crossing the border into Germany - metal fences

Mingling in with trees.

http://www.gorge.org/pylons/photos001.shtml

And this reminds me of:

High Wires has the same energy, ethos and structure as an old-fashioned evangelical revival. But the opening description, "My mind is frozen but my soul's on fire", suggests this is not a straightforward call to born-again salvation.

What the hell?

BF - please translate - or is it juct bollocks?

I have the sneaking suspicion that it was inspired by two threads that have since disappeared.

They do, but it's the member, not the administrator, who deletes them.
