I don't know what the Australian view is, but I've met several New Zealanders who hate being mistaken for Aussies in the same way that Canadians hate being mistaken for murcans.

Anybody been to Shanghai?

Any recommendations for music or good night spots?

No, but in 1984, I saw the singer from China Crisis picking his nose.

It was before a Simple Minds concert (China Crisis were openers)

Hanging out in a park prior to the show, dude's walking by picking his nose. An hour later, he walks out on stage. My friend's and my jaws dropped

Aussies gave us the Nick Cave as well as the delicious Outback Steakhouse with the Bloomin Onion. It's hard to compete with that ya know.

Don't forget - they also gave us "death by stingray" and a huge sector of americans still to this day saying "you call that a knife?" in crappy faux-aussie accents.

And I'll be forever grateful.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
