In the books, it does not go into the Renly/Knight of Flowers relationship. Did I miss something? Must be the writing for the show.

What gets confusing for me is that I am reading book 3 and watching book 2!

The relationship is alluded to in the book, and Martin has confirmed it, but it is WAY more explicit in the HBO series.

My problem with the addition in this regard is that Martin was never shy about extremely explicit scenes, especially sexual, and it seems to me that scenes like these would have been in the book if they were truly supposed to be there.

They made Margaery super hot and naked in the TV show, which is nice. I find it hard to believe that Renly found her all that repulsive.

Mr. WC did not find Margaery very attractive... don't really know why (at least he left the room when Renly and Loras were going at it!!

I didn't think she was very attractive either, but she's better looking than the chick who has the ships. And did anyone catch the SNL clip about the show? I'll try to find it on youtube and post it.

You'll find out next week. (Hint: you won't like it.)

Yep....I thought this past episode was a bit dull, but I liked the Stannis Shadow. One thing I love about the writing, is that anyone can get bumped off at anytime. There is no job security on that program.

Last night was a good episode. I'm waiting for Arya tell her buddy to kill Joffrey

I'm getting annoyed the way HBO writers change up shit. I think they do it for the sake of not having to put in stuff that takes up too much airtime.

Other than that, I will probably keep watching... lame. I know.

The novels are not a screenplay and there is no choice but to do those things required to adapt it as such. Storyline compression and character combination unavoidable.

Some of the adaptations I like better than the original text. Take for instance the Arya/Tywin relationship at Harrenhall which takes the place of whatever tedious goings on were in the book. It works pretty well.

The key plot points are all being hit as far as I can tell.

I just told my husband that I'm not into this season. It's really dragging, imo. I don't know what the writers are waiting for, but I do not have the anticipation of the episodes like I had with the first season. It's kind of boring.
