Liverpool Explodes is good as well.

I'm sorry but the Chris Adams book is shit. Cobbled together magazine articles and the layout is terrible.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Can I also add in "Rip It Up And Start Again" as a decent attempt to cover the whole post punk scene of the late 70's / early 80's...

Show no mercy.

No wonder people fear posting on this site.

As the disappointment with the band grows, so does the anger.

For someone relatively new to the band, I found the Chris Adams book a good introduction to their history. I particularly enjoyed the quotes from the band members. I'm glad someone made the effort because in another decade or two it will all be irrelavant, those individual magazine and newspaper clippings rotting in the landfill.

4 weeks to go!

!

Agreed! It was also done with the band's cooperation and blessing as I recall and provides a great historical record of the band.

I thought the book went along with the style of Adams' prior fanzines (remember those).

Of course, the best parts fo Turquoise Days were the cover (for which I tweaked what I believe was a Gary Lornie photo), and the me-restored bunny-on-a-cross easter t-shirt image....

...but then maybe I'm biased.

Emulating the band and their mocking of fans' covers and Mr. Adam's comment in particular.

And I appreciate the narrative Adamas created through assembling all those articles and interviews. Good book.

Nothing comes close to the Eric's book for me. It's the size of a phone book and really is a labour of love.

I have read the band cooperated with the writing of Never Stop - which was a bit surprising considering how open they were about Pete's trip to the states.

Mr. Brian, does this thread need to be moved to the EATB discussion area now?

If I moved a topic every time something went off topic here I would be very very busy!

They cooperate when they want their version of reality presented as fact.

The Pete parts weren't the most flattering - Will ans Les got a fair amount - but all that was really said about Ian was how much time he took to do his hair , he is blind, and he ripped his shirt at an early show and a sex god was born.
