Though I'm really interested in world affairs, I wondered why various rebel groups I'd assumed to be anarchists, communists and general troublemakers were trashing entire cities when the WTO set up camp. I thought it was juvenile, naive anarchism.
I now realise that there really is a conspiracy to set up a neo-feudal state by globalising worker exploitation, eventually even destroying the middle class in developed nations. I believe that Neo-Liberalism will ultimately wreak more destruction and misery on the world then the crimes of Stalin and Hitler combined.
And whilst I don't agree with some of Noam Chomsky's ideas-his initial hope that the Iranian Revolution might change things for the better (wrong) or his condemnation of the state of Israel (the social backwardness and sexism of its enemies makes it morally superior) he is spot on about how both the political parties and the media have been bought up and bribed to parrot the right-wing trash which brought America to its knees.
