Any of you bastards...

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Any of you bastards...

Postby black francis » Sat Jul 26, 2014 11:46 am

...golf? When I retire I plan to move over to Scotland and spend the rest of my days searching for Nessie, drinking beer and golfing. In that order.

Before I die I will play Royal Liverpool Golf Club, St. Andrews and Carnoustie. Who's with me?

Went up to Gleneagles this afternoon, kids fancied a bit of pitch and put and I can't really be arsed with all that walking involved in proper golf. Place was full of bloody Americans BF, you'd have hated it.

Who walks? Golf is for riding carts, eating hot dogs (that's not a penis euphemism) and drinking alcohol with your buddies. And as for your Americans crack here's a recent image of me golfing. I can wash these sweet babies in hot water cause these colors don't run!

Oh and fuck you for just being able to mosey on over to Gleneagles!

I think I'll just head out to my local historical course: Juan's Tacos and Nine Hole.

Do you have to complete one task before going onto the next - if so I suggest you either reverse the order or at least slip drinking beer up front. Otherwise you could ahve a long wait for a pint. Speaking of which, haven't been to scotland fro about ten years - has the beer improved at all?

On the golf front, no, never played a proper game in me life. Tried the 'crazy' version once but my bro beat me and never picked up a club since. In my dotage I'm forming a rocknroll band.

though to be particular, as some on this site have been known to be - you don't say you have to be successful do you? Just do somne searching, during which no doubt you'll pass a pub or too, stop for light refreshment and then have a game of golf. Wake up next day - repeat. Cool.

I figured I could probably drink a bit while looking for Nessie. Would probably improve my chances of sightings. I'm about 99% convinced there's nothing there but there's still 1% of twelve year old black francis who will never give up.

I've never been outside of the states unless you consider international waters leaving the country. I hope Scotland's beer is up to snuff.

Exactly. And if I had some retired VT companions on the quest so much the better.

Reminds me of a mildly amusing story from my youth. I used to work at a golf and tennis shop and this guy came in to buy some golf gloves and appeared to be in a hurry so my homie asks "late for your round?" and the guy responds with "I'm a bus driver, I use these when driving the bus." then he decided to add "I think golf is the most boring thing ever". I was content to let it slide but my buddy without missing a beat says "kind of like driving a bus".

Keep that sort of nonsense in the Leonard Cohen threads where it belongs.
