It's a hell of a thing, old age. Your unwalkable throbbing is located two or three feet lower down than in used to be, and it's brought on by high living and age rather than a sixteen year old in a mini skirt. Next thing you'll be waking up to discover that your water-bed has sprung a leak, only to remember that you don't have a water-bed. It's all down hill for us all from now on.

(Please MrB can we have an emoticon for impending doom and incontinence?)

My sciatica!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Last Christmas I decided to put some flooring down in the bathroom. A few days later I couldn't move my knee so I struggled to the doctor's surgery where he attempted to drain it (agony) before telling me it was a case of Prepatellar Bursitis though he kindly gave me a week off work. I struggled to the PC aided by my grandfather's old walking stick to check out the common term for this particular affliction to discover to my horror that I was suffering from 'housemaid's knee'! I will never live that one down.

I have "tennis elbow", probably from chronic masturbation.

I guess that would be "pennis elbow"

I also have "tennis elbow", probably from chronically hitting myself in the penis with a tennis racket.

They are pretty conservative with prescription meds in Japan. I'm taking something for the pain and swelling, I think a beefed up version of Ibuprofen. The doc doesn't expect another attack if I take care of myself, knock on wood (little or no drinking, watching what I eat), so no maintenance drugs, for now. I've got some friends in the states with gout, all of varying intensities and different triggers. It's a double edged sword I hear if they put you on the maintenance drugs though, b/c they can screw with your liver and have rather nasty side effects (chronic explosive diarrhea).

They all use the Shinkansen to go back to their caves.
