Clean cut goth like the early stuff in the 80s was a little more my style...EATB were considered to be proto goth. Some goth is just plain weird and clownish. But the music can be fantastic.

Yeah, all the bondage/cyber/contact lens/latex bullshit is not what I'm talking about. I never considered the Bunnymen goths, although a lot of goths listened to them, as they do/did most post-punk stuff.

Well they didn't really dress what people consider goth, it was more the lyrics and the music. Mac did used to wear a long black trench alot.

Someone described Queen as a "high goth" act once. Probably applied to the Banshees and Bunnymen as well. Sort of classy goth instead of juvenile/pretentious goth.
