I need a new console game

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

I need a new console game

Postby Mr. Brian » Mon Dec 28, 2009 9:18 am

Any suggestions on a new Wii game? I'm pretty satisfied with my music games and see no need for Guitar Hero 5 or Band Hero or anything. I'll just keep buying songs I like for Rock Band 2 and Beatles.

I would like some sort of sci-fi or flying game but I don't really see too many. Last summer I bought Metroid Prime but got bored with it pretty fast ( I thought it was pretty slow paced) so I don't want to plunk down $50 of my GameStop card money I got for Christmas and not even want to finish the game.

One thing that intrigues me is the Call of Duty series but there seem to be many to choose from. The WWII period is something I would probably like although my inclination is just to get the latest one. That's the Modern Warfare one right?

Does anyone here have the new Avatar game?

Help me out gamers.

The only games I play on the Wii are GH and Rock Band (GH5 is much better than World Tour btw) as my kids tend to monopolise it.
Have look HERE for a list of the most popular Wii games. Or HERE for "A list of Hardcore games (that don't disappoint) that Adults can enjoy on the Nintendo Wii".

The Force Unleashed. You can get it cheap, the story blows away anything in the prequels, the play is fun and you and the kids can have fun together.

It's my new favorite. Me and my seven year old play it every night before bed.

Yeah that's all I've been playing lately is the music games or the trusty standby Mario Kart. I dusted off Metroid just for a change and it was still very dull. I think I went for that one because of the Wii controller features and the space theme originally so I am gun shy on spending that much on a game that I might not like too well.

That Amazon list shows the Call of Duty: World at War one that looks good to me.

The Force Unleashed gets good reviews for the Wii. It looks like I could pick that one up for about 15 bucks used. That seems like a risk worth taking.

No risk at all.

Plus when you get to the end I can be here for support.

Speaking of console games, I got my brother DJ Hero for Xmas and I loved it. I believe there is a Wii version.

I think I'll stick to girly things like playing guitar, singing and starting a band. Maybe I should read comics again so I can come up with something like "The Teardrop Explodes" for a band name.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

Debate settled. Force Unleashed it is. Come on! you can use the fuck out of the force for fair means and foul. And your pilot wears a low cut Imperial uniform. She's feisty and a damn good pilot too.

Graphsic are a lot different between the PS3/360 and Wii.

Getting this game has me pretty psyched. I feel like a kid reading Foster's Splinter of The Mind's Eye before Empire came out.

That's because the 360/PS3 are hardcore gaming machines while the Wii is aimed primarily at 3yr olds and OAP's who don't know what "graphics" are.
I still do all my "proper" gaming on my pc.
