I got a chance to meet him on a couple of occasions and he was a complete gentleman. I'm glad I was able to tell him I admired him as a director and photographer as well as inform him he ruined my childhood. First by dying in Star Trek II and then as a director destroying the Enterprise in Star Trek III. Both are still traumatic to watch.
RIP
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
