For those of us disposed to observe such.

Do the Brits mourn the loss of the colonies on this day?

I'm quite satisfied with my California accent.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Noticed on the way to work yesterday that one of my local pubs (henceforth to be known as 'the bar') had been decked out in US flags. Did think of popping in for a look but decided against it as I was fearful of being accosted by a throng of overweight individuals wearing shorts, NY baseball caps and white trainers.

They should play the Pink Floyd's 'Shine on you crazy Diamond' as he enters the House of Commons Committee or wherever he's due for his bollocking today.

We still find you useful, for example your beaches for dumping our excess oil supplies.

The US TV show Arrested Development had a part of town similar to Chinatown or whatever called Wee Britain. There was a restaurant there called "Fat Ammy's American Style Restaurant". The doggy bags were big grocery sacks.

It also turned out that the British accented girl Rita that the main character falls in love with was just a retarded American.

I loved, loved, loved that show! It wasn't on nearly long enough. "There's always cash in the banana stand."

Isn't 1776 the year Wealth of Nations came out? Is that what we are celebrating?
