Glasvegas are probably the hottest up and coming band in the UK at this current time. To be honest it is a major coup for the Bunnymen to have them as the support band at the Echo Arena, as truth to be told Glasvegas are a much bigger pull to the UK record buying public than the Bunnymen, in terms of current record and ticket sales Glasvegas are shifting a hell of a lot more units than the Bunnies........

well, to be fair, it's not like the Bunnymen have a label to have any records being shifted on! stinking Warners!

If the RAH show wasn't sold out, Glasvegas would be on the bill there too.

What happens when they finish playing their alloted half hour and most of the audience gets up and leaves? I think I'll move closer to the stage for a better seat.

I'm disappointed that these dates have gone from the special "Ocean Rain with orchestra" shows to a regular gig complete with backup band and, oh yeah, Ocean Rain will be played in its entirety with an orchestra too.

I was going to say the same thing. Glasvegas were fairly unknown up to a few weeks ago. But with their debut album out, the UK press has picked up on them and they are getting press coverage everywhere now (there was also a piece in the Guardian TV Guide about a month ago that mentioned their forthcoming support for the Bunnymen). Any association with a band of this kind is a good thing for the Bunnymen. And certainly much better than previous connections with Coldbland.

No chance of the Bunnymen being upstaged is there?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Wow- same post works twice!

Glasvegas album out Tuesday - September 9. It sounds great! A fantastic warm-up band that will make the diversity and uniqueness of Echo & The Bunnymen's Ocean Rain even more amazing!
