Bunnymen mentioned in new Joy Division book

Postby Seven Seas » Tue May 27, 2008 4:21 pm

Paul Morley's new book, Joy Division: Piece By Piece, Writing About Joy Division: 1997-2007; has some Bunnymen references in it.

These are the page numbers which reference the band/members of the band:

56-58

78

There are also several good articles w/in the book on the beginning of the Manchester music scene & the start/continuation of Buzzcocks. Well worth a read.

You could have just edited your first post. You don't actually have to reply to yourself.

Do you mean a person can edit their post to ADD to it?
I thought you could only edit a post to replace the text with "x"

Yeah. You're right, Red.

In my defense, it was 2:44am when I posted. I'd been at work from 8am to 2:30am, preparing my store for a visit from the regional president of my company... and I was a little punchy

Sorry, Seven Seas.
I was just taking a jab. No malice was intended.

There's worse things than posting to yourself (e.g. about half my postings).
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

And add a Bunnymen/Joy Division show to my list of time machine travels. That must have been some hot shit.

Trust me, a lot of underlying things could be said but, aren't...& people are NOT drunk either for what they did mean initially.

In all respect or not. If someone doesn't like or care for someone, shouldn't they just say it outright or in a PM? Then, it's all out in the open, done. After that, time to move-on.

I think there's a lot of underlying things & feelings people do want to say but, don't. I think the air would be cleared if it was expressed.

I think some people need to learn how to take a joke and laugh at themselves when they do something totally inane and/or incredibly amusing instead of turning every opportunity into a self pitying soliloquy.

I am trying to find a youtube that goes with this.

Actually, I wasn't drunk.
It just seemed a lot funnier after 18 hours at work than it really was.

Do you work for a radio station?

Nah. retail management.

I don't think people working in radio do much longer than a 4 hour shift.

18 hours retail? Please tell me you were stocking or managing - I dread seeing anyone trying to make a sale after 18 hours on the floor.
