Happy Holidays my friends! Gosh, I've been so busy lately to check in on what's happening here. I last saw the Bunnymen at Darker Waves Fest this past November at Darker Waves Fest when Ian was clearly experiencing laryngitis and performed a short set. I did buy a ticket to see them perform at the casino the night before, but a screwup with the ticket seller cancelled that plan. Good, because the show was called off minutes before they were to take the stage. It would have been a drag to drive from Los Angeles and back with nothing to show for it. I spent some time with Gordy while in Glasgow this past July, what a nice guy, happy to learn he was to tour with the band again in November. I always hope they'll do a night or two in December in Liverpool, at which time I'd consider flying out for that experience.
I share with you a favorite of mine which I listen to often when I need a Bunnymen fix. My recording of their performance on June 17, 2014 at Irving Plaza. Good quality. Anyone know who the guy in the back of the auditorium is? "Bring me back!" "Déjà vu!!" Any of you?? Ian was very tolerant of him.
