2022 Tour

Postby crystal89 » Thu Mar 04, 2021 1:24 pm

Whilst I don’t doubt Will Sergeant’s ability to play all the songs, I do doubt Ian McCulloch’s ability to shout, was going to say Sing, them. There’s a reason why Back of Love is never played, and it ain’t the riff being really complicated.

Setlist to be comprised of half of Crocodiles, half of Ocean Rain, Lips like sugar and NLF. Ramblings obligatory. Remember the more your drink the better it sounds.

Tickets arrived this morning for the Phil on the 14th Feb. Can't even remember when the gig was supposed to be originally, though it's looking less likely for February than it did a few weeks back with the current situation.

With all the shows being canceled, once again, I pray for you that they start the tour a month from now! I plan on seeing them at the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena in May. Plenty of time for omicron to have faded away! Hahaha....

according to FB, set cut short tonight halfway through NLF. Bad back or something - though how they know that I don't know.

I was there.
All was going great, setlist surprises Flowers, The Game, Stormy Weather, great to hear.
Then during Seven Seas Mac lets the crowd sing the chorus and looks a bit flustered. Thought that was unusual.
He's off to rear of stage for a drink and looks to be stretching his back. Downs a couple of pills by the look of it.
Next up BB and Ballyhoo, he's clearly not happy and it's a mess, ending badly.
He announces he'd had a massage and his back is ******g killing him, off they go "give me five mins".
Back on with NLF, which he struggles through admirably but doesn't sing the outtro.
Off they go. Minor disquiet amongst the ranks of fans, but generally a shrug of the shoulders.
Five more minutes pass then a roadie is shoved in front of the mike and blurts out "please exit the venue, it will be rescheduled".

First of all hope Mac feels better soon. Wonder if he should take up walking like the Sarge, but I don’t think Mac is the walking kind of person.
Glad to hear the Setlist is a bit more varied. Always wondered why songs like The Game never got played post 97, especially considering the deeper and lower voice when the Bunnymen returned. Be good to see a video of ether Flowers or The Game, rather than the usual 3 or 4 that everyone seems to film.

Think he was struggling abit before that, he seemed to forget the words to Rescue and generally didn't seem too happy.
Hope he gets whatever it is sorted soon and that they manage to reschedule the show - it had been pretty good up until then especially Show of Strength and Over The Wall.
