He mentioned it in a recent interview (might have been the piscast for the arts college whose name evades me, nirth West, Cheshire, somewhere) but that's all.

"Jennifer Otter Bickerdike is a media and music academic" Mon dieu, sounds a bit pretentious to moi.

someone's got to do it.

eh, a french conservatory in Leeds!!!

so its not just being good at popmaster and knowing when Britney Spears last had a hit record (one more time). Crazy stuff. What's wrong with the school of hard knocks and all that, the transit van and venereal disease route to stardom I ask myself? Wonder if you actually have to be able to play something - or can you just turn up with shed loads of attitude and a good haircut? Sounds more fun that event management anyways. Module 4 - arguing with the manager who's just put horns on your minimalist dub but genius new mix, module 5 - arguing with the label for being goodly enough to bank roll your mad ideas but then wanting you to talk to journalists about it, Module 6 - going on top of the pops and then getting the tube home because strangely enough you haven't actually made any money in ten years. module 7 - just what does cross collateralise mean? - and so on and so forth.

module 8 - knowing when to split the band up and how to do it (a) get your dad/manager to do it for you (the weller method I understand)
(b) live on stage on the last night of the tour (the bowie/ziggy method) (c) in the press (can't think of anyone, but it must happen) (d) going to live in LA leaving the rest of the band in didsbury (that bloke from the charlatans - though to be fair, I dont think they've actually split up have they) and of course (d) by moving your missus into a bed in the studio next door (the lennon method)
Module 9 - getting back together again - just when is the best time to put the band back together and why you should be the first to leave after you do

I'll stop now......

JOB has written a biography of Nico. From the Graun review:
The biography is poorly written, with a surfeit of ill-chosen words (“She was a true bohemian, who deserves proper recognition for her brave, ballsy, often weird and always deeply personal albums…”).

One of my favourite bands the Chameleons split up (second time) on their internet message board which although sad was priceless entertainment.
