First time poster here, but I just had to make a post after the events of yesterday! Last night was one of the most amazing gigs I've been to in my life, and easily the best time I've ever seen the Bunnymen; I can't imagine it ever being topped! There was plenty of banter between Mac and the audience throughout, with constant shouts for 'Baseball Bill', 'Do It Clean' and 'Zimbo'. Everyone was clapping and stomping loudly between songs by about halfway through the gig, leaving Mac, in his own words, "speechless and genuinely happy; you've made my year". Him and the band agreed that it was "the best gig we've played in the last ten years", and he was so bowled over by the response that he decided to change the setlist halfway through, dropping 'Lovers On The Run' for 'Villier's Terrace' which got a massive cheer and very loud singalong, but not as loud as the singalongs for 'Bring On The Dancing Horses' or 'The Killing Moon'; Mac stopped singing and just let the audience sing huge chunks of those songs as we were so loud! At one point he said the band would have to move to Wolverhampton, and asked, "Why do you like us so much?? Fucking idiots!" After the band had performed one encore and gone off for a second time, Mac said he was going to have a quick fag and they would return; when they did he asked if we wanted to hear 'Do It Clean' or 'Ocean Rain' and then said they'd just play both! There was then a massive moshpit for 'Do It Clean', people throwing themselves all over the place, before 'Ocean Rain' calmed everyone down and brought the gig to a spellbinding climax. It seemed everything just aligned last night to produce a once-in-a-lifetime gig, something I and most of the audience, along with the band no doubt, will never, ever forget.

Lived there most my life! Anyway I gave my ticket to my brother in law because I couldn't come back over to see the rescheduled gig.Glad it was great. Don't know whether I would have enjoyed the mass singalongs though .Lol

They weren't mass singalongs by any means, just on a couple more songs than usual!!
It was fantastic and the best I've seen for a number of years! Could tell early on it was going to be a good night but after Seven Seas the crowd went up a few notches and the band responded. The second encore was just the perfect ending to a great night! A dedication was made to Annik Honore, saying what a good friend she had been to the band.
