They had a massive fallout a few years ago, because Mac slagged them off in the press......

Chrissy Boy can't erase the fact that he praised The Bunnymen & Mac to the heaven when he presented them the "Q" award a few years back........

i thought beth orton did the presentation, though chris and chums were in the audience and mac acknowledged them. Didn't mac jump the gun and say that buns were supporting them and then it mysteriously didn't happen.

Chris Upset with Ian McCulloch

Originally posted on April 22, 2004 5:22 PM

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has blasted fellow singer friend Ian McCulloch after he leaked out the band's plans for a massive world tour.

According to rate the music.com, Echo And The Bunnymen star McCulloch earlier revealed that his group had been asked to support Coldplay on a tour next year.

But Martin was furious with his pal for letting the news slip and demanded that it be retracted.

"Chris was livid that Ian had mentioned it to anyone and wanted it all denied. He was really upset and said Ian had jeopardised the band's chances of supporting Coldplay", a source told British newspaper the Daily Star.

"At the moment, there's no specific plan for a tour next year", a Coldplay spokesperson said.

ah, tragic...

Plus he was afraid the Bunnymen might show Coldplay up for the dull, bedwetting tossers that they really are.

their latest offering "Magic" that i have to endure at work 2-3 times a day, is probably the dullest record they have recorded even when compared to all the other mundane shit.

I'd love to know McCulloch's real opinion of Coldplay
It wouldn't work if Mac was a slaphead would it.
